New Features for 2008 membership year;
- Family Membership - Available to Regular Members only, the additional family member must live at the same residence and be over 18 years of age. Family Members can vote and show at all CKCSC events. No additional club publications will be sent to the Family Member.
- Statistics are now available in two formats, email and printed. The prices for 2008 are $20 & $40 respectively.
There are five classes of membership: Regular, Associate, Foreign (for non-residents of the USA), Honorary (extended by the Board to honor an individual) and Lifetime.
- Regular Membership is open only to a resident of the USA, 18 years or older, who is the currently recorded owner of a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel which is registered with the CKCSC,USA, or is a member of the immediate family (parent, spouse, child) of such recorded owner, provided that s/he complies with the rules and regulations of the CKCSC,USA. Further:
- the owner of a Rescue Cavalier Listed with the CKCSC,USA may apply for Regular Membership
- a Regular Member who does not currently own a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel registered with the CKCSC, USA but has owned one for the previous two full years, may retain Regular Membership for an additional two years by paying annual dues so long as s/he fulfills the other requirements for Regular Membership. If at the end of that time s/he has not acquired ownership of another Cavalier, sh/e may continue membership in the CKCSC,USA as an Associate Member.
- Privileges of Regular Membership are:
- The right to serve as Officers and Directors of the Corporation and to serve on committees of the Corporation, vote in elections, qualify to become Member Judges, all registration privileges, and enter and exhibit dogs at National and Regional shows organized under the auspices of the CKCSC,USA and its Regional Affiliates
- Quarterly issues of the CKCSC Bulletin
- The CKCSC Yearbook, published in May
- Associate Membership is open to any person who is interested in the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel breed, but is not eligible for Regular Membership. Further:
- A person to whom transfer of ownership of a dog is being delayed pending fulfillment of specified requirements (unless otherwise eligible for Regular Membership) is eligible for Associate Membership only, until all requirements of transfer are met and transfer of ownership of the dog is recorded.
- Foreign residents (non-residents of the USA) may become Associate Members but must pay the Foreign Membership dues to cover additional shipping and handling expenses.
- Privileges of Associate Membership are:
- Quarterly issues of the CKCSC Bulletin
- The CKCSC Yearbook, published in May
Any Associate Member who acquires ownership of a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and meets the requirements for Regular Membership (listed above) must notify the Membership Secretary and change to Regular Membership.
