CKCSC Show Point Standings
The Cavaliers of the West held a three-day show in Burlingame, CA from July 2-4, 2010. The judging panel included two judges from the UK and one US breeder judge. The Friday show was judged by Judy Wright (Yokley—UK) who awarded Winners Bitch and Best in Show to 20 month old blenheim Forestcreek Bijoux (Ch Pascavale Jai, JW x Forestcreek Louisiana Doll). She is breeder owned by Kevin and Debra Cline and this win earned her champion’s crown. Winners Dog and Reserve Best in Show was 2 year old blenheim Briarcrest Star Chaser, JW (Ch Dallarock Bronson x Benchmark Stardust at Briarcrest), bred by Susan Van Luchene and owned by Vicki and Bill Mitchell. This was his first major win after a very successful puppy career. Reserve Winners Dog for his second major, leaving him needing class points to finish his championship, was 4 year old blenheim Quail Run Royal Colonial (Ch/EngCh Ricksbury Royal Intrigue of Pinecrest x Quail Run Summer Solstice). He was bred by Linda Kornhi and is owned by Linda McCarver and Linda Kornhi. Reserve Winners Bitch was the year’s Top Cavalier, 2 year old Ch Aranel With Love, JW (EngCh Pascavale Enchanted x Aranel Bubblicious), bred by Mssrs. M. Smith and R. Aldous and owned by Jennifer Flowers Foster. Best Puppy in Show to earn his Junior Warrant in straight shows was Cedar Creek Spicy Hot at Valleyriver (Full of Malarky Miles of Aisles x Cedar Creek Spicy Girl), an 8 month old blenheim boy bred by Trudy Owens and owned by Judy Hill. Best Veteran in Show was 7 ½ year old blenheim bitch Ch Crossbow Sweet Revenge of Shadowbrook, C-CD, RN, bred by Wesely and David Schiffman and owned by Dave and Sharon Moody.
On Saturday, under judge Stephen Randle Goodwin (Lanola--UK), Winners Bitch and Best in Show was Ch Aranel With Love, JW, for her second major of the weekend. Winners Dog and Reserve Best in Show was Maibee Perfect Pitch (Maibee Montrose x EngCh Maibee Gentle Touch), a 2 year old blenheim bred by Shealagh Waters and owned by Marilyn Mayfield and Chris Wornall. Reserve Winners Dog for his first major was 22 month old blenheim Rockcreek Baccarat (Peaksdown Aidan x Rockcreek Secret Revealed), bred/owned by Judi Steagall. Reserve Winners Bitch for her second major was Aranel Cookie (EngCh Keyingham Branwell x Aranel Arabesc), a 3 year old blenheim bred by Mssrs. M. Smith and R. Aldous and owned by Ellen and Jamie Seidman, Joseph Berkau, and Burk Hughes. Best Puppy in Show on her first weekend in the ring was 6 month old tricolor bitch puppy Hathersage Celtic Queen (Ch Covington Maker’s Mark x Pinecrest Shamrock at Hathersage). She was bred by Kathie Fowler and is owned by Kathie Fowler and Christine Johnson. Best Veteran in Show was Covington Meydenbauer Bell (Legacy Hot As Hades x Covington River Bridge), a 10 year old blenheim bitch bred by Heidi Mohn and Mike Rann and owned by Robyn and Gloria Christensen.
Sunday’s show was judged by Anne Eckersley (Chadwick--US) and her Winners Dog and Best in Show was Ch Forestcreek Dream On (Ch Pascavale Jai, JW x Loranka’s Weave A Dream at Forestcreek), a 20 month old blenheim bred/owned by Kevin and Debra Cline. This was the Cline’s second BIS win over the weekend--with two different offspring of Jai. Reserve Winners Dog and Reserve Best in Show for his first major win was 2 year old blenheim Grantilley Goodwood at TruElegance (Salegreen Frederick x Grantilley Moonlighting at TruElegance). He was bred by Rita Bidgood and is owned by Valerie and John Cromer. Winners Bitch and Best of Opposite Sex was 17 month old tricolor Sheeba Standing Ovation of Windnsea, JW (Orchardhill Spoken For x Sheeba Sandia), bred by Karin Ostmann and owned by Jody and Frank Sutton. This young bitch had a very successful weekend—winning Best in Sweepstakes on Friday evening, her Junior Warrant on Saturday, and her first major on Sunday. Reserve Winners Bitch was new Champion Forestcreek Bijoux, Friday’s BIS winner. Best Puppy in Show was a repeat from Friday in Cedar Creek Spicy Hot at Valleyriver, JW. He moved onto the ranking for
the Top Ten Dogs at 8 months of age and with two weekends of showing. Best Veteran in Show was also a repeat of Friday, Ch Crossbow Sweet Revenge of Shadowbrook, C-CD, RN.
Ch Aranel With Love, JW retained and extended her lead as the Top Cavalier for 2010 with her two major wins over the weekend. The Top Dog remains Ch Charnell Cosmopolitan, JW by a slim margin over Ch Forestcreek Dream On. The Stud Dog race is very close with the top three dogs--Ch Truluv Kiss N Tell of Jayba, JW, EngCh Pascavale Enchanted, and Ch Pascavale Jai, JW—separated by just 3 points. Jai picked up the most points over the weekend with a total of three majors and two BIS awards being earned by his progeny. The Top Brood Bitch is Ch Orchardhill Nice Boots, Baby by a wide margin |
