CKCSC Show Point Standings
The Cavaliers of the Northeast held a three-day show in Linthicum Heights, MD from August 13-15, 2010. The judging panel included one judge from the UK, a breeder judge from the US, and an AKC judge. On Friday, under AKC judge Lydia Coleman-Hutchinson, Winners Bitch and Best in Show was the veteran black & tan, Chadwick September Song at Blackfire (Sanickro Heartbeat at Travtana x Chadwick Blackout at Blackfire). She was bred by Anne Eckersley and Kate Kennedy and is owned by Kate Kennedy. She was shown from the Senior Open Bitch class to this win, and at less than a month from her 13th birthday, she is thought to be the oldest Cavalier to win a Best in Show in the CKCSC, USA. Winners Dog, Reserve Best in Show and Best of Opposite Sex was another Chadwick, this time 18 month old blenheim Chadwick Passion Puzzle (Ch Kilbrook Kiefer at Woodbury x Chadwick Indecent Affair), bred by Anne Eckersley and owned by Courtney Carter and Anne. This was his first major win. Reserve Winners Dog was another newcomer in 18 month old blenheim Nightingale Arlo (Nightingale Paparazzi, JW x Nightingale My Sunshine, JW). He was bred by Mandy Mulligan and is owned by Pamela Birmingham. Reserve Winners Bitch to earn her crown was 21 month old tricolor Orchardhill Intrigue, JW (Ch Orchardhill Here For The Party x Ch Orchardhill Nice Boots, Baby), bred/owned by Erica and Rachel Venier. The Best Puppy in Show was another from these same breeder/owners--7 month old blenheim dog puppy Orchardhill Tough Enough (EngCh Pascavale Enchanted x Ch Orchardhill Never Grow Up). Best Veteran in Show was the BIS winner.
Saturday under judge Elaine Lessig (Roi L—US), Winners Bitch and Best in Show was yet another Chadwick—this time the litter sister to the previous day’s WD, 18 month old Chadwick Your Place or Mine (Ch Kilbrook Kiefer at Woodbury x Chadwick Indecent Affair), bred by Anne Eckersley and owned by Elizabeth O’Brien. This win finished her championship. Winners Dog, Reserve Best in Show, and Best of Opposite Sex was another with connections to Anne, and also a new champion, in nearly two year old Milkeyn Sheer Inspiration, JW (EngCh Cinderlace Cromwell, JW x Milkeyn Sheer Gem). He was bred by Roy Stevens and Ann Moffat and is owned by Mary Susan O’Connor and Anne Eckersley. Reserve Winners Dog to win his first major was 2 ½ year old blenheim Darane Jon Bon Jovi (Ch Saintbrides Puck x Saintbrides Tender Mercies), bred/owned by Katherine Kates. Reserve Winners Bitch was one of the year’s top winners in Ch Denham Dreamed About, JW (Ttitian Cranberry at Sevenwoods x Ch Closeburn Brighde Douglas of Denham, JW). She is the year’s Top Ruby and was bred/owned by Nancy Maddox. Best Puppy in Show was 8 month old ruby Kellene Barnaby Jones (Elyzian Red Red Wine x Harana Jamelia), bred by Kelli Marshall and owned by Courtney Carter. Best Veteran in Show was once again Chadwick September Song at Blackfire.
Sunday’s show was judged by Barry Embleton (Bardenji—UK). His Winners Dog and Best in Show was new Ch Milkeyn Sheer Inspiration, JW for his second major of the weekend. Winners Bitch, Reserve Best in Show, Best Puppy in Show and Best of Opposite Sex to become the fourth new champion of the weekend, and one of the youngest in history at 11 months, was Nightingale The Beat Goes On, JW (Ch Nightingale Heat Wave, JW x Nightingale My Sunshine, JW). This blenheim girl is breeder/owned by Mandy Mulligan. Reserve Winners Dog was her half brother and a repeat of Friday’s RWD, Nightingale Arlo. This win gave him both majors and needing just 3 class points for his crown. The wins by these half-siblings has put their dam, Nightingale My Sunshine, JW, into second in the Brood Bitch rankings. Reserve Winners Bitch was also a repeat of Friday in new Ch Orchardhill Intrigue, JW, giving her the lead in the Top Tricolor rankings for 2010. The Best Veteran in Show was Chadwick September Song at Blackfire for the third straight day.
Ch Aranel With Love, JW retains her lead as the Top Bitch and Top Cavalier overall for 2010 and the
Top Dog remains Ch Charnell Cosmopolitan, JW. EngCh Pascavale Enchanted took back his familiar spot at the top of the Stud Dog rankings by just a few points. The Top Brood Bitch is Ch Orchardhill Nice Boots, Baby by a wide margin. |
